Through Moms Meet, I was given the chance to get some of my parent friends together, and try Sundown’s children’s complete multivitamin gummies.
As parents, we always want what’s best for our kids – which means making sure their tiny bodies are getting what they need. When they’re plugging their noses at the green beans on their dinner plate, or fighting you off as you try to get them to eat something other than hot dogs for lunch, again, for the 100th time… you start looking into supplementing options to make sure they’re getting those vitamins and mineral essential to growing, fending off cooties (we all know what it’s like once that school season starts!), and just all around thriving in their environment.
But it’s hard, because there are so many options on the market today.
With my background in nutrition, and having spent several years researching and learning about supplements, I’m potentially the pickiest shopper ever. I scrutinize the labels, each ingredient, and always find myself putting products back on the shelves because they don’t meet the standards.
So when I say Sundown checked all the boxes on my shopping list, it wasn’t surprising that when I told a few of my friends I had a product for us to try, the invite to come over was immediately accepted.
All of Sundown’s products are 100% non-GMO, gluten and wheat free, contain no dairy, lactose, artificial flavors, or peanuts.
Their children’s multi-vitamins have the vital vitamins (A, B, C, D, and E), and minerals our kids need, and don’t get from their foods.
A handful of us sat down, talked about our littles, and tested the gummies out to see if these were something that not only met our requirements, but would be something our kids would take – without funny faces, gagging noises, or running way shrieking at the top of their lungs.
On the taste:
- “They taste like the fruit snacks I get them for their lunchboxes, which means I won’t have to fight them to take them.”
- “We tried ones a few months ago that tasted like chalk, and left a weird aftertaste in your mouth. These ones don’t have that chalky taste, and that’s nice.”
On what’s inside
- “I can actually read everything on this label, and none of it is bad. The last ones we bought him, I had to google some of the ingredients, then found out that they’re not good stuff, so we brought them back to the store.”
- “I’m new to this pay attention to what’s going in your body thing, so I appreciate the simplicity of these vitamins. It makes me feel like I could go into the store, and confidently purchase them.”
We all dispersed from the gathering feeling comfortable with the choice that these gummies were the ones we would be giving our children.
That evening, we started a new bedtime routine in our house, which included adding Lightening McQueen gummies before brushing, and books in bed. Not only do I like that my son remembers that he needs to take the vitamins every night, but I like that we finally found a product that I feel comfortable giving him.
